The clean replacement for glycol — validated and deploying.
SiFusion Energy Inc. is commercializing a patent-pending natural-gas dehydration technology that removes water without glycol, eliminates its toxic BTEX emissions, and produces hydrogen — targeting a multi-billion-dollar replacement market.
The problem
Water — and the dirty fix for it
Water has to come out of natural gas: it freezes and ruptures pipelines, forms hydrates that clog equipment, and drives corrosion. For decades the fix has been glycol dehydration.
But glycol has to be reboiled to be reused — a high-heat, emitting process that releases benzene and other BTEX carcinogens, methane and VOCs. It's chemical-heavy, tightly regulated, and expensive to run.
The opportunity
A large, recurring replacement market
- U.S. & Canada units
- ~52,000
- Worldwide units
- ~260,000
Industry estimates. Glycol units are typically replaced on a ~10-year cycle, and natural gas is projected to keep gaining share as a transition fuel — a steady, essential market.
Why SiFusion
A better dehydrator on every axis
The same skid a producer already installs — a separator plus dehydration vessels — but built around a silicon-nanoparticle reaction instead of glycol.
No glycol, no BTEX
Replaces glycol dehydration — and the benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) emissions its reboiling produces, along with methane and VOCs.
No parallel regeneration
Conventional systems run a second set of vessels and high-heat piping to recondition the drying agent. SiFusion doesn't — lowering capital, labour and maintenance.
Hydrogen as a by-product
The water removed is turned into hydrogen that enriches the processed gas stream — new value from what was a waste problem.
Independently validated
The core silicon–water reaction is experimentally proven at the University of Saskatchewan: reproducible, GC-confirmed, with no side reactions.
Carbon-credit potential
By eliminating glycol-reboiler emissions, the system may qualify for carbon credits in Alberta and other jurisdictions.
IP-centric & licensable
Patent-pending technology built to scale through unit sales and regional licensing — global reach without heavy capital.
